Terms of Use
The rules for using the Back to Even app and website.
1. Agreement to these terms
These terms apply to the Back to Even app and website. By using them you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy, and Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If these terms conflict with Apple’s, these terms apply where the law allows.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 to use Back to Even.
3. What Back to Even is, and what it isn’t
Back to Even is a self-help tool for people who want to stop or cut down on gambling. It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and it is not a treatment for gambling disorder. If gambling is hurting you, talk to a professional or call or text 1-800-GAMBLER (US). In a crisis, call or text 988 or your local emergency number.
4. Pip chat
Pip’s replies are written by an AI model. They can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable, and they are not professional advice. Don’t rely on Pip in an emergency. Don’t use the chat to harass, to try to get betting tips, or to break the model’s safeguards. We may limit or switch off the chat.
5. Blocking has limits
The Shield uses Apple’s Screen Time to make betting apps and sites harder to reach on your device. No block is impossible to get around: another device, a new app, a browser we don’t cover or deleting Back to Even can bypass it. We can’t guarantee every gambling app or site is covered. Guides on this site describe where to look in third-party apps; those apps change, and their own terms apply.
6. Subscriptions
Back to Even Plus is an auto-renewing subscription billed to your Apple ID. Payment is charged when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends. It renews automatically at the same price and length unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before that. Manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
7. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the app, website or our servers: no reverse engineering except where the law allows it, no attempts to get around App Check, rate limits or purchases, and no use that harms others.
8. Our content
The app, Pip, the guides and the website belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own, non-commercial recovery. What you write in the app stays yours.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that it will stop you from gambling.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for gambling losses or for indirect, incidental or consequential damages from using the Service. Our total liability is limited to what you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
11. Changes and termination
We may change or discontinue features and update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version, and material changes will be shown in the app or on this site. You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app and cancelling your subscription.
12. Applicable law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator’s place of business, without depriving you of the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live. Questions: back2app@fluagency.com.
